Your comfortable life can change in an instant.  Just ask Nick and Elizabeth.

Nick and Elizabeth have a good life, a good marriage.  On the surface. Each carries with them, though, an unfulfilled need that's eating away  at them.  As the clock ticks, their carefully constructed life begins to unravel and they find out that each is not really what they seem.  Or are they?

The story covers three short weeks in the lives of several characters with Nick and Elizabeth being the main focus.  Hemsley, however, skillfully interweaves vignettes of other character's lives to keep the reader moving forward and wanting to turn the next page.  This book gives you the good, the bad and the ugly of everyday people.  Each and every one could be your next door neighbor and it really makes you think about what goes on behind closed doors because nobody

is really who or what they seem.

Nick Helmsley is a gifted writer.  His plot is tight, his character development is just the right amount and his style leaves you wanting more.  I was very impressed with this book and though it's not a light read, it's well worth the effort.

This book will haunt you after you put it down and make you want to read it again to see what you missed the first time through.

I give this book a 'great read' mark.  Pick it up online, you won't be sorry you did.
